Overview
SevTech was engaged through a Joint Venture company established to manage the outsourced cheque clearing operations for AIB, BOI, and PTSB.
The engagement focused on assessing the technology capabilities of the outsourced partner responsible for cheque processing across all Irish banks. The objective was to evaluate system performance, security, and compliance while identifying opportunities for optimisation and risk mitigation.
Challenge
The cheque clearing process is a critical function for the Irish banking sector, relying on the outsourced partner’s technology and operational efficiency.
However, concerns had arisen regarding system reliability, security posture, and regulatory alignment. The challenge was to conduct a detailed technology assessment to ensure the partner’s infrastructure and processes met the banking industry’s stringent standards while identifying areas for enhancement.
Solution
SevTech conducted a structured technology review, analysing the partner’s cheque clearing systems, security frameworks, and compliance controls.
Using industry best practices, we assessed infrastructure resilience, operational workflows, and risk management strategies. Collaborating closely with both the Joint Venture company and the outsourced partner, we developed an enhancement roadmap to improve service reliability, security, and regulatory compliance.
